Family Cruising is set to move to a new level with Carnival Cruises announcing their newest ship "Carnival Horizon" will feature a Dr. Seuss themed water park. Inspired by the legendary children's author, the 3934 passenger ship will set sail on a 13 day Mediterranean Cruise from Barcelona on 2nd April 2018.
The Dr. Seuss WaterWorks compliments the hugely popular "Seuss at Sea" program that features Dr. Seuss themed youth, family, dining and entertainment experiences. The exclusive partnership with Dr. Seuss Enterprises further cements Carnival's distinction as a family cruise leader carrying nearly 800,000 kids a year.
Promising fun for all ages, a 137 meter "Cat in the Hat" slide will feature an enclosed raft with a range of heart-racing twists and turns. The "Fun Things" slide is sure to be equally fun, with an enclosed body featuring whimsical polka dots and special lighting effects, named after the mischievous duo Thing 1 and Thing 2. The WaterWorks will also include a tipping bucket patterned after The Cat’s hat, along with a splash zone with dozens of water spray toys. Visitors will also be greeted with larger-than-life images of famous Dr. Seuss characters and memorable Dr. Seuss phrases displayed on clear partitions around the park.
Popular "Seuss at Sea" activities such as the "Green Eggs and Ham Breakfast" and the Seuss-a-palooza Parade will also entertain the family onboard.
A sister ship to the hugely popular Carnival Vista introduced last year – Carnival Horizon will offer many of the innovative indoor and outdoor dining, bar, entertainment and activity options that debuted on Carnival Vista. Other entertainment features onboard include a bike-ride-in-the-sky attraction called SkyRide, an IMAX Theatre, and the SportSquare outdoor recreation area with a suspended ropes course.
