Overview
Carnival Spirit was the second ship to be built under Carnival Cruise Line’s Spirit-class. It weighs 80,286 in metric tonnes and measures 294 metres in length - that’s the size of three football fields. Each of its 12 decks feature staterooms, dining areas, and activity centres that offer a combination of fun, elegance, thrill, and good taste.
Around 2124 guests can occupy it's state rooms that deserve to be called your home at sea. You can choose from four different types - an interior state room with picture window (obstructed views), an ocean view where for a glimpse of what's going on outside, or 3 types of spacious balcony staterooms. For those wanting a little bit more there are a number of suites (grand, vista, ocean, and junior suite) available for an indulgent getaway. All suites come with VIP check-in, a walk-in closet, and a whirlpool tub.
Carnival Spirit cruises depart from Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, and Honolulu. It focuses on cruises to Australia, New Zealand, and the Pacific Islands. You'll find cruises ranging from 2 days to more than 10 days.
Carnival Spirit is the perfect choice, whether you are seeking an action-packed holiday or a laid back relaxing voyage.
You'll find a range of onboard activities for all ages. Carnival Spirit has the largest waterpark at sea in Australia, slippery, wet fun for the whole family! Kids can also be entertained by age-appropriate youth programs with the opportunity to make new friends.
In the meantime, adults can spend their time having a laugh at The Punchliner Comedy Club, or a drink in the RedFrog Rum Bar and Pub, and Piano Bar. Or, for a more rejuvenating experience, the Serenity Adult-Only Spa is always a welcome option.
Dining options are not a problem when you’re on Carnival Spirit. The Main Dining Room offers delectable dishes including steak, seafood and prime rib. They also offer kids menus that the younger ones will really love. The Lido Marketplace has indoor and outdoor seating, and a host of dining options for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The Chef’s Table and Nouveau Restaurant are available for dining at extra cost.
Carnival Spirit was awarded Cruise Critic’s Best for Families ship in 2014.

We had a great time a few little gripes
Debra Crane travelled in November, 2019 and left the following review:
Had a great time on our cruise. Everything was perfect, food was great, the cabin was spotless. The bed was the most comfortable I have ever slept in and that is better than my own bed. Entertainment was top class and the crew were lovely always happy and smiling. Because of the fires on Moreton Island we were diverted to Hobart which I thoroughly enjoyed instead.
Jo Bailey travelled in July, 2019 and left the following review:
8 days to Noumea, Mare and Isle of Pines; such a wonderful time. First time cruising and Wong be the last. Amazing value for a family of five. Easy to book, service was top-notch. Thank you!
Ilaise Katoa travelled in December, 2018 and left the following review:
This Cruise was organised for my mother in law who turned 80 years of age. It was absolutely amazing, we loved every minute being on this Cruise. So many enjoyable things to do, the nonstop food service was exceptionally 100% the best service, the early dining was also enjoyable with entertainment each night. The Cruise Staff was all excellent caring helpful and very committed to the service they provided in all areas. The only 1
issue that we really had was the drinking water which didn’t really taste like water but other than that we found no other faults and we are all so glad we made the decision to go. My family and I will definitely go again and can’t wait to plan out next trip with Carnival Cruises.
Nathan Pepper travelled in August, 2018 and left the following review:

Robert Lamond travelled in July, 2018 and left the following review:
We had a wonderful eight day holiday in July to the South Pacific.
The food, entertainment and service was all excellent for this class of ship and the general atmosphere on board was friendly and relaxed.
Our cabin, although interior twin share on deck 7, was more than adequate for the limited time we spent in that area of the ship.
We especially enjoyed the over 18 comedy shows and the nightly music in the Red Frog Bar.
Everything including the tendering process was run professional and efficiently.
Charles Smiley travelled in June, 2018 and left the following review:
Our cruise was wonderful , service and food the best ,
very relaxing and is the best way to enjoy a relaxing fun holiday .
one draw back was we not given a cabin number , i rang before we left was told we would know on the dock , we went to deck one , was so loud and noisy so i complained , service , on behalf of Carnival moved us to deck 7 ,
That made our Cruise .
Thanks Carnival .

What can we say?
As first time cruisers it was everything we hoped it would be and more.
So much to see and do, on and off the ship.
The activities on board catered for all ages and different interests, the food was very enjoyable and well prepared.
Last but not least, our stateroom steward,Sandi.
Sandi prepared our cabin each day, making us feel like we had all of the comforts..
Well done Sandi!
Fantastic cruise,Carnival.
Kerilyn Dowling travelled in March, 2018 and left the following review:
Went on this ship with my girlfriend. We had the interior room with the French doors. Fabulous to have daylight and be able to see out even though the view was obstructed., so cheap, great value. The food quality and variety of choices was sensational. Our favourite thing about the ship was the live music in the lobby bar, Summer Breeze were fabulous and Kevin in the Piano bar at night after dinner. All up after 9 cruises this is my favourite!
Cynthia Garland travelled in March, 2018 and left the following review:
Have travelled with carnival line before. We have travelled twice on the spirit and once on the legend. Can recommend cruises with this company. We really enjoyed it. Although we did feel that prices of drinks were more expensive than with other cruise lines and they do not do a drinks package which is a shame. Cabin was a good size even though it was just a standard inside cabin. Food was excellent.
Lisa Harvey travelled in February, 2018 and left the following review:
I can not complain about the service on the Carnival Spirit.
Room: we had an aft extended balcony room. The room was a good size it fit three of us comfortably and the balcony was a good size. Being aft it was a bit rougher than mid and we felt a bit of movement, we were unfortunate to hit bad weather so it got pretty rocky . Unfortunately it was also Over the Empire restaurant so if we were on the balcony we got hit with food smells, I would have preferred fresh air. Our room steward was lovely can't complain at all.
Food: I felt the food onboard was of high standard and I'm pretty fussy. We preferred the Empire for dinner, the service was great and the food was pretty good. We hit the ,,Noveau one night and the meat was beautiful, good quality and beautifully cooked. The buffet had a good variety and everything I tried was pretty good. The Blue Iguana does a great burrito and the Fountain cafe coffee was lovely.
Drinks: I would not recommend the bottomless bubbles package unless you want more than 7 soft drinks a day. Soft drink and juice is very cheap so I would not bother with the package. The cocktails were tasty and reasonable priced, bottled water was only 1.50 in the lolly shop but there is iced water all over the ship.
Entertainment : The fun squad were great I enjoyed trivia and the Hasbro games, only complaint was the lack of seating in the areas they held these. The comedy club Was hilarious , some really good acts. The shows were pretty ordinary, the singing was not great and we only went to two performances as they were pretty bad. The karaoke was good as were the bands in the bars and the Lip Sync battle was hilarious.
Overall I thought it was pretty good except the weather which ruined the shore excursions but obviously that Was beyond their control.
Jordan travelled in December, 2017 and left the following review:
My sister and I thoroughly enjoyed our cruise.
Glen Arraiza travelled in May, 2017 and left the following review:
It was my first Cruise and the overall experience was fantastic. The crew, cabin and staff were excellent.
The Food, entertainment and facilities on board were excellent.
I had an internal cabin located on Deck 7 at the rear which was very good.
I had a good deal due to last minute cruises and would do it again as a result.
Didn't get an upgrade that as I was hoping for but it didn't matter as everything turned out to be an excellent experience.
